Asec. Capongcol has more than 30 years of experience in policy development and project management development strategies and reforms in the power and renewable sectors including total electrification program of the country. Designated as OIC Assistant Secretary of the DOE effective 23 August 2022 to present. Served as OIC-Director of REMB who oversee the implementation of the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations as well as development of new policies and strategies to meet the objectives of the RE Act through greater promotion, exploration, commercialization, and utilization of RE in the country and promotion of biofuels program in the country. She also supervised the formulation of the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) 2020-2040 and implementation of various RE Policy Mechanisms such as Green Energy Auction Program (GEAP), Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), RE Market, Feed-In-Tariff and Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS), among others.
