Mr. Erik Hjortland

Erik Hjortland is Vice President Technology in Odfjell. He has worked on marine fuels, energy efficiency and decarbonization in Odfjell for the last 15 years and was Head of Fleet Performance & Bunkering until 2018.

In his current role, Hjortland leads the company’s decarbonization team. He is a board member of NCE Maritime CleanTeach, a member of DNV’s Environmental Committee, a member of Norwegian Shipowners’ Association’s Climate & Environment Committee, and a member of Intertanko’s Environmental Committee.

Hjortland was a Naval Officer from 2000-2007, and is educated at the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy.
